This time we were looking for 50 million year old fossilized fish.
50 million years ago this area had been a fresh water lake. When a volcano erupted it killed millions of fish and preserved them.
We spent the morning and found many good specimens.
Here are some of the more amazing specimens on show in a local store. They cost as much as $50,000 each.

The fossils look amazing and it's hard to believe they actually lived so many years ago but are still around today.
